Rev. Kesey began her ministry with First Christian Church in July 2021. Kerry Kesey grew up in both Oregon and NW Arkansas. She graduated from Northwest Christian College (now Bushnell University) in Eugene, OR with a degree in Church, Society and Family. She received her Master’s of Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary in 1999 and went on to serve churches in Kansas, Washington and Hawaii. Prior to accepting her call to Fayette, Rev. Kesey served as Pastor to Englewood Christian Church in Yakima, WA. Rev. Kesey brings to her ministry a passion for helping people connect faith and everyday life through preaching and teaching. She also has a deep love for the church, and felt called to ministry from an early age. Rev. Kesey has a passion for justice and has worked with Anti-Racism training and workshops, as well as working with community groups advocating literacy, affordable housing, and interfaith dialogue.
Rev. Kesey loves all kinds of music, is an avid reader, and after spending most of her life at the other end of the Oregon Trail, Kerry is enjoying exploring the starting point of the trail, as well as exploring all this area has to offer. Pastor Kesey has two grown children, and one adorable granddaughter.
